Although the Kennel is marketed as being Airline approved. Additional ventilation holes were required to be drilled in the rear wall of the Kennel and smaller holes top and bottom of the door frame to 'Tie Wrap' (lock) the door to meet Air Lingus requirements for Chicago to Dublin transportation. Vari need to make these changes in order to ensure that their product is Airline approved so that travelers are not caught out at Cargo inspection with a kennel that is not acceptable for transatlantic shipment. I was fortunate in being able to obtain the necessary 'Drill and Bits' to modify the Kennel. I will be making the same flight later this year with 3- pets and would appreciate that when I place an order for 1- intermediate Kennel and another small kennel they will be equipped with both the additional rear ventilation holes and the top and bottom door frame holes for locking the door.
