The Heritage Farms Double Sided Absolute II Bird Feeder features a weight sensitive metal perch that closes access to the seed tray when squirrels attempt to feed. The attractive spring operated perch is adjustable to allow or exclude large, heavy birds as well as squirrels. A seed saver baffle design reduces wasted seed and helps keep the feeder area clean. The reservoir has a huge 8 quart (2 gallon) capacity and the clear plastic reservoir windows make the seed level visible at all times. There are feeding stations on both sides of the feeder so you can see a large number of birds feeding at one time. The feeder's roof swings up for easy one-handed cleaning and filling and locks down on one side.

The feeder has a durable green powder-coated steel construction that will last for years to come. This feeder may be hung using the included 11 inch steel bracket hanger or pole mounted using the included adaptor and four-section black steel pole(4'9in). The pole includes a 12in ground socket to allow for seasonal removal of the feeder and pole or for removal during routine maintenance such as mowing.

This is as close as you'll ever get to squirrel-proof. Once in awhile, they get smart enough to hang from the top and grab one seed at a time, but seed loss is minimal as they eventually tire of this strategy. Since the birds usually spill plenty of seed on the ground, foraging at the base of the feeder becomes the preferred method for the critters.
