A wholly organic mulching material made from the outershell of the cocoa bean. The material breaks down slowly and will not disappear into the soil. Spring & Summer Application : An average application will last two to three seasons. Reduces weeds. Conserves water and reduces dust. Adds nutrition to the soil. Cocoa Shell Mulch has a fertilizer value of 2.5-1-3; it will not burn vegetation. Natural color and pleasing cocoa aroma. Fall Application: Roses and other perennials are damaged by alternate thawing and freezing in winter which heaves soil and tears root structures. Use mulch rings and hill up plants 6” and CocoaShell Mulch will insulate against winter damage. One bag covers approximately 12-16 square feet at 2" thickness. Has exceptionally landscaping qualities.
