The top is designed to "unscrew" from the main center shaft by simply turning the whole top piece.
When it is removed there is a funnel shaped area that feeds into all three feeder tubes so you can easily pour seed into the funnel area and it fills all three tubes quickly. When it is back in place, it provides a good seal so rain cannot enter into the feeder tubes.Sonya, Mon Dec 27, 2010
