In addition to hanging this feeder can be post mounted directly on a 5/8" wooden dowel, or on a piece of 1/2" size copper tubing (which has a 5/8" outside diameter). The mounting post or dowel should be inserted at least one foot into the ground. Post mounting hardware is not supplied. The above-ground height can vary. A good height is three to four feet.

I have tried many feeders over the years and these are by far the best ever! So easy to wash by hand or in the dishwasher. My hummers fight for a spot to feed and I have one on each side of the house. The moat at the center of the feeder keeps ants out nicely too! Peggy Melgaard, Tue May 17, 2011
