Wire rope clips allow the cable to be shortened to the appropriate length. Since cables can be shortened, but not lengthened, always choose a cable length that is longer than the span to be crossed.

My 75 lb. dog broke this trolley and within 1 1/2 months of having it. It was supposed to be for dogs much heavier than him. Big disappointment. Thank God I was able to dive and catch him before he could totally disrupt the neighbor kids playing. It broke at the spring connection side. I would not buy this again.John, Wed May 08, 2013

The trolley run wire is great. I wish the wheel was made of a stronger material than plastic as when it breaks it will be a real pain to replace. I have had to replace one in the past. However, my real dislike is that the 10 foot lead cannot be replaced at the wheel as I would have preferred a 15 foot lead. A clip instead of a permanent attachment would have enabled a longer lead.
