I really like this planter. The barley straw really is a natural filter. Just make sure your pond is clean before adding this planter and barley will keep the water clean. Even though it says lasts for 6 months, that only means the barley "cleaning" ability. You can keep the planter in your pond for longer.Jamie W, Fri Jan 14, 2011
