At first glance, the Squirrel Be Gone looks like a beautifully designed feeder. But look more closely and you'll soon discover that this very design is what causes the feeder to be completely squirrel-proof. The interior seed tower is surrounded by rustic metalwork. Six feeding ports have sturdy metal perches that allow birds to feed comfortably; but, when the squirrels perch on them, their weight causes the entire metal casing to slip down, completely blocking the feeding ports and their access to the seed. They'll soon give up and seek more convenient sources of food. The Squirrel Be Gone feeder holds 3.4 pounds of seed.

Squirrels have tried to get in but can't. Birds love it. We use black sunflower seeds attracting Chickadees, Purple Finches, Goldfinches. I wish it didn't have the decorative leaves, and it's slightly challenging to fill.Mary Kay, Sun Dec 20, 2015
