The process by which the collar is beveled, seemed and stitched is so smooth there are no rough edges for discomfort. Measure pet at midpoint of neck, add 2-3 inches for a comfortable fit (2 " for smaller collars, 2-3" for larger collars).
12 inch collar is 3/8 thick
14 & 16 inch collar is 1/2 inch thick
18 & 20 inch collar is 3/4 inch thick
22, 24, 26 inch collar is 1 inch thick
